With myopia (magna) the retina can show changes and week spots that might induce retinal detachment. They might also give rise to macular alterations. A special preventive examination including a refraction and an examination of the retina in mydriasis (=medically dilated pupil), makes it possible to discover this kind of pathology in an early stage.
